If you went a little overboard on the distressing… you can always paint over it.Ĭan you believe it was that SIMPLE!!! Well it is! It is now ready to add to your wall… a gallery wall… a vignette and so much more! I found these by the frames in the Dollar Store… so look there first or you can always ask. Work your way around the whole mirror till you are happy with it. The carved nature of the mirror lends itself to distressing in a snap. Once it is completely dry… take out that sandpaper (fine to medium grit) and eye ball where you want the distressing to be. Give it a nice light coat… dry it with your handy blow dryer or let it air dry and then give it another good coat of paint and allow it to dry completely. (remember to wash the mirror off… it can collect dust in the store and you don’t want that to get in your paint… allow it to dry good) White Chalk Paint, a paint brush, sandpaper and the mirror. You will be looking in the mirror in about 15 minutes! One thing I have to stress is to use chalk paint… it is truly the perfect paint to use and with the original color of the mirror… you don’t have to paint to get the right color for distressing before hand. Well I really loved it after a simple distressing which involved a piece of sandpaper and that’s it! I thought to myself once again… this is too simple but then I thought… that’s a good thing so there is no need to complicate things or excuse the expression… “junk it up” : ) It truly looks like a piece that you would pick up at Pier 1 for about $19.99! So below is the super quick and easy tutorial.

But… after I went through the store… I went back and picked 2 up… heck… it’s $2! In my head I was going to do a wood beaded center but… after I painted it with a soft white chalk paint and let it dry I said to myself… let’s distress it and see where it goes.
